Master Diploma Training in Hypnotherapy
The Master Diploma Course in Hypnotherapy comprises of five modules specifically aimed at workingwith personal clients in a private hypnotherapy practice and the subsequent development of a corporate consultancy.
The five modules are:
- The Basic Diploma Course in Hypnotherapy (7-days)
- Supervised Case Histories
- Hypnotherapy in Business
- Hypno-Coaching
- Case Studies for Hypno-Coaching
Originally devised as a stand-alone 7-day Diploma Course in Advanced Hypnotherapy, the new Master Diploma Training has been revised to expand the overall application of the techniques and protocols learned in the Basic Course. Course graduates can take their expertise into the business environment andprovide corporate consultancy services in the form of specialised group workshops and Hypno-Coaching
Still maintaining the focus of client-based therapeutic techniques, the Austin approach to Hypnotherapy is one of simple, yet effective techniques and protocols that have been tried and tested with thousands of clients. By maintaining small numbers of attendees on each course, the course tutor can provide personalised training and coaching to ensure the highest standards of training.
Students who attend the 7-day Basic Diploma Course and subsequently complete their Supervised Case Histories often decide to focus on working with the medical profession. They can elect to attend the Medical Hypnosis Training instead of the business modules. Taught by instructors with a comprehensive medical background, prospective students will learn a variety of new protocols and how to integrate their knowledge and experience into working within the medical profession.
The Master Diploma course in Hypnotherapy complies with the minimum 125 hours study time necessary to be validated by the General Hypnotherapy Register (the UK´s largest independent register for Hypnotherapy)
Post-Course Evaluation and Continued Professional Development
Course Graduates are encouraged to attend the Further Education Days held regularly throughout the year.These consist of evaluations and discussions of recent work and case histories. Course Tutors provide updates on developments in the Hypnotherapy arena and provide ad-hoc training as deemed appropriate. Eight Further Education Days are included in the price of the 7-day Basic Diploma Course and the Master Diploma Course and there is no time-limit for students to attend them.
In addition to the Further Education Days, Austin Corporate International organises specialist workshops throughout the year. Trainers specialising in various areas of expertise are flown in from the U.S. to enables students to continually expand their knowledge and expertise.
Part I : The Basic Diploma Course
This intensive 7-day training is designed to provide students with a practical knowledge of hypnosis and the application of specific therapeutic techniques. The course combines theory with ´hands on´ experience. Duration: 7 days (86 hours in total)
Course Outline
Day 1: General introduction,Hypnotic demonstrations, rules of the mind, introduction to hypnosis with proven hypnotic inductions to ensure the success of The Austin Technique.
Day 2: Demonstrations of the full technique, depth in hypnosis, regression (the key to trauma-related issues), understanding habits, addictions and phobias. How the vast majority of phobias can be permanently removed using hypnosis.
Day 3: Practice in the skill of regression, parts therapy and mental classifications. Gestalt therapy - an elegant and efficient method of dealing with issues arising out of regression. Particularly useful for dealing with emotional abreactions.
Day 4: Speed Reading - an important self-development programme. Therapy demonstrations and practices. H.S.A. and its use in stress management for increasing productivity.
Day 5: Self Hypnosis Day. Formulating suggestions, goals and techniques in imagery and its importance to ´mind work´. Third party healing, introduction to the ´Nth Phase´(an Austin skill of attaining 2 breaths per minute for depth and distance healing), the coma state, body language, eye-accessing cues.
Day 6: Diagnosing the “do´s” and “dont’s” for therapists relating to problems presented by clients. Dealing with issues such as abuses, weight control, excessive alcohol consumption, insomnia and anxiety. Gestalt techniques and methods that deal directly with the inner mind.
Day 7: Stop Smoking. The one hour method of stopping smoking and how you can consistently achieve a 95% success rate. The introduction to the client that is critical to success with the AustinTechnique. Upon completion of the training, students are required to complete the written exam.
During the course, students are expected to spend a minimum of 21 hours studying the comprehensive course manual that accompanies the training. The contents of the manual (together with practical experience) form the basis for the written examination.
Pre-Course Study Requirements
Prior to attending the course, students must read the book Self Hypnosis in order to familiarise themselves with the basic principles of hypnosis. They must also memorise the protocol for an induction used on the course.
Post-Course Assignment
Upon completion of the 7-day training, students are required to produce and audio recording of a ´Stop Smoking´ session and a transcription of the session for assessment by the course tutor, prior to being awarded the Diploma in Hypnotherapy.
Part II - Supervised Case Histories
Upon successful completion of the 7-day Basic Diploma course (and attainment of the Diploma), course graduates are required to demonstrate their abilities of working with clients by providing a minimum of 12 case histories for assessment by the course tutors.
Duration: 72 hours
Each case history must comprise of 5 therapy sessions per client and be fully documented regarding the content of the sessions and a de-brief of the overall outcome for the client. Once submitted, each case history will be analysed and assessed. Course tutors will discuss the contents of the case histories to enable each therapist to gain a greater understanding of therapeutic processes.
This stage of the therapists development is the most crucial - receiving feedback on their caseload allows them to fine-tune their approach to client work, ultimately leading to more efficient and proficient therapeutic interventions.
There is no time-limit for the completion of the Case Histories. The timescale depends entirely on the therapists ability to produce the work required. Completion of Part II is a pre-requisite to attending the following modules.
Part III- Hypnotherapy in Business
Duration: 2-day workshop (17 hours)
Designed to enable therapists to obtain work within the corporate environment and provide consultancy services in the form of group sessions. The course will teach attendees how to create their own customised workshops according to corporate outcomes.
Topics covered include:
- Self Hypnosis
- Stress in the workplace
- Increasing Productivity
- Goal Setting and the Psychology of Achievement
- Stop Smoking
- Alcohol and health
- Marketing as a corporate consultant
The training received in this module will enable the student to provide the same consultancy services provided by Austin Corporate to its own corporate clients.
Part IV - Hypno-Coaching
Duration: 2-day workshop (17 hours)
This module enables the corporate consultant to work in the business environment by providing personalised coaching integrated with powerful hypnotherapy techniques. The course content combines all the elements of the previous modules and utilises the techniques in the context of executive coaching.
Hypno-Coaching is model that can be used for both personal and professional goal achievement. When clients break through barriers or resolve issues that were holding them back, they often want to capitalise on this outcome by working toward previously un-attainable goals.
Hypno-Coaching goes beyond the normal life-coaching model by combining hypnosis with standard protocols for goal achievement.
Part V - Case Studies for Hypno-Coaching
This final module requires the student to submit five case histories for clients they have worked with usingthe Hypno-Coaching model learned in the previous module.
Duration: 15 hours
Completing these case histories can be extremely rewarding as often the Hypno-Coach performs what some would deem “a miracle” in helping Clients break down barriers and achieve things in their life that they previously deemed impossible.
The Case Histories are reviewed and the student receives a de-brief regarding their content. There is no time limit for completion of this assignment. The time taken to complete the case studies is dependent entirely on the schedules dictated by Clients. Many clients require coaching for short periods, whilst others require a longer period to realise their outcomes.
